Who is an Angel in the Outfield?

Our Angels in the Outfield are our player’s buddies and the most critical volunteer we need each and every game!

Volunteers who are Angels are individuals assigned to each player, every game.  Many times, an Angel and a player form a bond and stay paired up throughout the Dream League season.

In the Little League International organization, Angels in the Outfield are Challenger Buddies.

Angels are members of the community who like to help others, volunteer their time and give of themselves.  High and middle school students and peer athletes choose to be Angels.  Often times, a sibling or relative is a player's Angel.

Our goal is to support a player while allowing the parents/guardians the opportunity to watch and cheer on their athlete!  Our Angels are “Day Of” volunteers.

Youth volunteers ages 9-14 years old must be accompanied by parent, guardian or chaperone.  Volunteers 15 years or older can volunteer by themselves.

What does an Angel in the Outfield do each game?

Angels are friends to the athletes.  Angels can assist a player by pushing wheelchairs, helping with batting, base running and playing defense in the field.   Angels can help keep the player's attention on the game and engaging them in the game.  An Angel in the Outfield does not need to have any baseball skills.  The Angels make sure our players are safe at all times.

We ask our Angels in the Outfield to bring positive attitudes, teamwork, creative thinking, patience, passion for helping other and a drive to bring positive changes to the lives of others.

What baseball experience do Angels need?

Our Angels in the Outfield need NO baseball experience at all!

Each Angel will receive a Dream League Angel t-shirt to wear each game day they attend.  We recommend weather-appropriate athletic clothing, a hat and sports shoes.

Do Angels earn service hours?

The Dream League is a rewarding experience on its own and it does provide service hours to those Angels in the Outfield who are looking to record their volunteer time towards service hours.  Many of our Angels earn service hours they use towards National Honor Society hours as well as Y.E.S. hours.

Dream League Board members will be happy to sign volunteer forms at the sign in table after games or at the end of the season!

Being an Angel is a fun and rewarding way to earn service hours!
